Sunny and 35°F, but the course
was very slippery due to being both snowy AND muddy. See
more on the Footlocker website here. |
Post-Season Action - November 15 The weather was terrible all across the midwest: temperatures in the 30's, strong gusty
winds and lots of precipitation in various forms - rain, sleet & snow. No new PRs today! Kudos to everyone
brave enough to compete under these conditions!
Mid-East
Cross Country Championships - Dayton, Ohio Senior co-captain Dan Culbertson led the Michigan team
finishers with his 5th-place 15:59 finish in this seniors-only race. The Michigan men's team placed 4th in a very
close race (only 15 points separated the 4 teams (MI, OH, IN, IL). The Michigan girl's team won by a wide margin,
so Michigan did win the overall "combined" meet. See full results on Dyestat here.
Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional - Terre Haute, Indiana Pioneer Kevin
Knight took 70th place in the Freshman-Sophomore race with a time of 21:22.9. Pioneers Laura Knight and Tara Jibson
also ran in the Girls Championship race. See full meet results on Dystat here. |
Post Season Action - Nov 9 Senior Qualifier for the Mid-East Championships - Sharp Park,
Jackson Pioneer co-captains David Wallington and Dan Culbertson ran in this race for
Michigan seniors across all divisions, and the top-twelve finishers will represent Michigan at the
Mid-East Cross Country Championships in Kettering, Ohio on Saturday Nov. 15. Despite the cold, wet, muddy
conditions, both turned in fine performances. David almost made the squad with his 15th-place finish in 16:37,
while Dan took 1st place in 15:56 after dueling with long-time rival Michael Murphy. Good luck to Dan and the
Michigan team!
Tortoise and Hare Turkey Trot - Hudson Mills Metropark Pioneers Kevin Chaperon and Ethan Warren also braved the inclement weather Sunday morning to compete in
the 5k race at the annual Tortoise and Hare Turkey Trot, held at Hudson Mills. Kevin finished in 9th place overall with
a time of 18:22, while Ethan followed in 11th place overall with a time of 18:41. Congratulations! |
