Alumni Race/Time Trials - Sat. Aug. 30
In a fast-paced race under sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-60s, Don McLaughlin again claimed first place for the Pioneer alumni, finishing in 16:12.  Nineteen runners ran the Pioneer Prairie (not a particularly fast course) in less than 20 minutes, including four alumni, and eight runners crossed the finish line in under 18 minutes.  It was clear that our juniors have been training hard: six (unofficially) tied or broke last year's PRs!  The whole team was running well, and our freshmen survived their first taste of 5k competition.

If you keep track of scores, this year's Pioneers scored 24 points, vs. 47 for the alumni.
